Trust the online method of APDCL bill payment

APDCL or the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd. is responsible for distribution and supply of power or electricity in the state of Assam in north-eastern India.  Operated under the state government of Assam, the company has about 33 registered consumers as on date. With a strong and robust IT infrastructure, the company also facilitates and accepts online payments from its consumers that can be paid from the brand portal online or can be deposited in-person at various bill payment centres.

Consumers of APDCL can now easily settle their electricity bills by downloading the App of prominent payment aggregators in India like Paytm, MobiKwik and PhonePe. More and more people are now using payment aggregator apps because:-

  1. They facilitate easy and smooth payment.
  2. Their networks and systems are safer and securer than many other branded sites and apps.
  3. They offer customers different online payment options in the form of e-wallet, UPI, Netbanking, debit cards and credit cards.
  4. There are no transaction fees or any kind or other payment related charges that the customer needs to pay the aggregator for conducting these operations online from their site and Apps.

Making APDCL payments from an online reseller site or App

Here are the steps that consumers need to follow to complete their bill payment process from reseller apps and sites:-

The transaction will complete quite fast and immediately you will receive a confirmation from your bank or e-wallet service provider or UPI facilitator, and from the reseller about the success of the transaction. APDCL will also send an email and SMS confirmation at the end of the transaction.

In majority of cases there are absolutely no issues with this kind of online bill payment. It is fast, it is efficient and it is reliable method of making payments. However, there have been cases where issues related to online payments have been reported. For example, the transaction gets suspended and then cancelled midway in which case the entire thing has to be redone by the user. Sometimes the money gets deducted from your account but the electricity board does not confirm your payment. In such a case, it is advisable to contact APDCL directly through their portal and seek redressal. In most cases, the money deducted will either be received by the electricity board or be refunded back to you by the reseller. In negligible cases, the money deducted from your account is untraced or untracked and the issue keeps pending.
